Our faculty Prof.Dr.Yakup Kordan presented his study on Preoperative prediction of lymph node invasion in prostate cancer: Ga-68 PSMA PET or nomograms?.

International Prostate Forum (IPF) is organised by academic urologists between Türkiye, Japan and USA that includes malignant and benign diseases of the prostate. In 2020, our faculty members Prof. M. Derya Balbay and Prof. A. Erdem Canda organised IPF2020 Virtual Meeting.

Prof. Dr. Tarık Esen from our department gave a talk on ”Impact of pre-radical prostatectomy PSMA on decision making” and our visiting faculty Prof. Dr. Derya Tilki gave a talk on ”Adjuvant versus salvage radiotherapy after radical prostatectomy” during this meeting.

Challenging Cases of Partial Nephrectomy: Hilar Tumors, Endophytic Tumors, Large Tumors

Prof. Canda from our department take part in the following sessions and performed a successful live case of ”Robotic pyeloplasty” from Koç University Hospital robotic surgery operating room on a young patient with UPJ obstruction. Preoperatively, MR Urography scans of the patient was converted to 3D images by our engineer Mr Sertaç Fatih Aksoy. Ureter, renal pelvis and crossing vessel were marked with different colors. Thereafter, these 3D VR (virtual reality) images were transferred to Da Vinci xi dual console surgical robot that were used as a guide during surgery. Following the completion of the anastomosis, ICG fluorescence application showed a nice perfusion. Our Urooncology fellow Dr. Arif Özkan assisted Prof Canda and faculty members of our department observed the whole surgical procedure.

Prof. Canda took part as a panelist and moderator during the congress. In addition, our 9 studies on robotic urology appeared among the posters at the congress.

Prof. Canda presented our study entitled  3D real time image reproduction of the prostate: *Can it be used on virtual reality (VR) headsets and/or tilepro of Da Vinci surgical system as a guide during robotic radical prostatectomy? *that received 3rd prize award.

Prof. Canda and Prof. Derya Tilki organised a Robotic prostate cancer (RARP) surgery course on human cadavers on 8-9 July 2019 in Melle, Belgium at ORSI Academy New Venue Advanced Robotic Surgery Training Center. Colleagues from Australia participated as a trainee in this successful 3-day course.

Prof.Erdem Canda and Prof.Saad Aldousari from Kuwait together with Prof.Alex Mottrie gave 5-day training on basic robotic surgery and robotic prostate cancer surgery to the urology trainees from Kuwait.

Prof. Canda, organised a robotic surgery course on Robotic prostate cancer (RARP) and robotic kidney tumors (RAPN) on 14-16 November 2018 in Melle, Belgium at ORSI Academy New Venue Advanced Robotic Surgery Training Center. Colleagues from Spain, United Kingdom and Holland participated as a trainee in this successful 3-day course.

During the congress, Prof. Tarık Esen gave talks on Minimally invasive treatment of RCC and Nightmares in robotics: Upper tract.

Prof. A. Erdem Canda participated as an ERUS Board member and served as a panelist during the Live surgery session. He also had many posters and videos during the congress.

Our faculty members Prof. M. Derya Balbay, Prof. A. Erdem Canda and our visiting faculty member Prof. Derya Tilki participated as invited speakers and gave talks on Prostate Cancer and Robotic Surgery in Prostate Cancer, Kidney Cancer and Bladder cancer.
