Koç University Online Multiparametric Prostate MRI, Biopsy Methods, Ga68 PSMA PET CT Course: Multidisciplinary Approach, 24 April 2021, Cumartesi



Our multidisciplinary meeting was organized  on 24 April 2021 Saturday at our training center RMK AIMES (http://www.aimes.org) that is located in the same campus with Koç University Hospital in Istanbul, Türkiye.

Radiologists including Prof. Bengi Gürses, Prof. Barış Bakır, Dr. Metin Vural, Dr. Barış Türkbey and Dr. Emre Altınmakas  gave lectures on the details of multiparametric MRI. Dr. Barış Türkbey from Maryland, USA and Dr. Emre Altınmakas from New York, USA connected to our meeting and gave their talks. Prof. Barbaros Çil from the department of Interventional Radiology gave his talk on prostate biopsy methods. Dr. Metin Vural from the department of radiology gave a talk on MR guided ”In bore” prostate biopsy. Prof. Dr. Yakup Kordan from the department of urology gave a talk on prostate MR fusion biopsy with UroNav.

Dr. Hülya Seymen and Dr. Okan Falay from the department of nuclear medicine gave their talks on Ga68 PSMA PET CT with case presentations.

Prof. Laurence Klotz connected to our meeting from Toronto, Canada and gave his talks on transperineal prostate biopsy, novel developments in imaging of localized prostate cancer beyond MRI and the role of molecular biomarkers in the prostate cancer diagnostic pathway.

Prof. A. Erdem Canda from the department of urology gave his talk on mpMRI and ga68 PSMA PET CT images for 3D virtual reality tumor navigation during robotic prostate cancer surgery.

A multidisciplinary case discussion panel was organized that included urology (Prof. Tarık Esen and Prof. M. Derya Balbay), medical oncology (Prof. Nil Molinas Mandel and Prof. Sevil Bavbek), radiation oncology (Prof. Uğur Selek), uropathology (Prof. Dilek Ertoy Baydar), radiology (Dr. Metin Vural) and nuclear medicine (Dr.Okan Falay) as faculty where challenging uro-oncological cases were discussed.

We had more than 150 participants in our meeting and online questions were asked by the participants that were answered interactively by our speakers.

At the end of our meeting, we had an online live music performance that included vocals by Prof. Sevil Bavbek, Mr. Cemil Demirbakan and Dr. Okan Falay, guitar by Prof. Tayfun Oktar and accordion by Prof. A. Erdem Canda.
